How to ...?
John 10:27 New English Translation (NET Bible)27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them and they follow me. How to hear?
Burdens of the spirit
are they God’s call to us?
Are we sealed in one-ness
with God and not a guest?
God says that He speaks clearly
but we can’t comprehend it.
We know the problem is not He
but in our human-ness.
To manifest God’s will in me,
how does He go about it?
He speaks with a small still voice
but I just drown that out.
I don’t even know He is speaking
for I am always occupied
with what I deem important
being lost in a crowd.
So when I receive a burden,
am I supposed to reason?
Should I try to figure out
and see what God wants?
If it appears good to do it
and is listed in the scriptures,
Should I go ahead with it
and let God have “His” want?
What if a spirit is weighed down?
Then it is surely not from the Savior.
It must be Satan’s attempt to crush
my will and so me oppress.
In such he will deny me prayer
in need to change my behavior
to keep me feeling hopeless
as not Christ to possess.
God’s concern motivates
prayer and meditation.
He loves to reason
and explain everything.
The things that I don’t understand
and bring me to frustration,
He will cover that with faith
He brings peace within.
The freedom of prayer
will never be lost,
for God so loves
to communicate with us.
But prayer is foremost listening
and not our speaking
for that is God’s way
in a relationship with us.
A spirit-filled with concerns
loses the sharpness of intuition.
These senses are dulled
by the weights so imposed.
The victory is ours
to fulfill its fruition,
if God’s ways are accepted
to shed evil’s overdose.
