THE HOUSE

Once a house of happiness,
Now a deserted nightmare.
Where one generation grew up;
Where another generation died.
The house that was always lit
Stands in the dark, abandoned and cold.
A house where a young child would laugh
Has become a house that leaves the child cold.

For it brings back memories, both good and bad;
Now the child looks at the house with sadness.
The child would be excited
To go to the old house.
To see loving family'
That are now turned into dust.

The house is a bittersweet reminder
To the now grown child.
Who loves and hates the house
Because of all it's reminders.
