My daddy's gone again

won't answer my phone calls

since he saw the great falls

falling from my eyes

The warmth of fire took me

kept my soul and broke me

I never wanted this

but you two wouldn't listen

cause the smoke just kept on hissing

I tried to keep you close

but you did all to retire

shushed me with "I'm tired."

And mommy's betting again

Twirling cigarette smoke

fuzzy gray and yellow

She's sipping wine on end

the bottle almost ran out

soon she'll stand up and shout

And I'm drying my tears again

Cause mommy's in the hospital

I'm sorry that I can't be there with her

Just take me to the river bank

I'll admit, life isn't fair

and I'll be out of your hair

My family
