A Hopeless Romantic

Feelings only growing strong,

Only to be put down by the world,

Unloving as it can be, he still hopes.

Reality leaves his mind,

Leaving him to wonder,

Every clover he found he kept.

Awaiting that wish to come true,

Forgiving the past in hopes to say those words.

Crushing emotion stab his throat,

Love, a four letter word he couldn't utter.

Visions of her dance in his mind,

Everything slows as he ponders,

Reminding himself that lust is not love.
