Hope for the Hurting

There’s a girl who hears voices that aren’t really there,

There’s a boy who can’t believe the real voices that actually care,

There’s a man who can’t see the light on the other side,

There’s a  woman with painful scars to hide,

There’s a teenager who can’t stop a full stomach feeding,

There’s another who is terrified of any kind of eating,

There’s a young man who seems like the class class clown

But on the inside all he feels is down

There’s a person who can’t escape the fear,

There’s another who can’t stop the tears

There’s a man with an addiction

That’s only to his life brings friction

They struggle with things that nobody can see

But they feel that a broken person is all they can be

All of them with so much pain

They can’t see what to others seems so plain

That there’s hope to be found

That there are people who care

That there’s a God who is everywhere

I would give them all hope if I only could

Because what they need most is to be understood

The joy in life doesn’t come easily

But the kind you fight for means more than that which is free
