Hope Amidst Injustice

What if your life was taken from you?
They say life isn't fair, but this would be blatant injustice.
Why should you have to be punished for the crime you didn't commit?

Yet, there's nothing you can do.
How can you escape such despair?
How can you fight what isn't fair?

When you're closed off from the world,
when you've lost everything you once had,
what will you make of what they cannot take?

Don't let go of hope,
the power to change your life
has not been taken from you.
