Hide your kids hide your wives

It's not a joke they're really shooting

The teachers are unprepared and all the parents are beyond scared

Someone unarm him or kill him I don't care

Thank God others say but only for the fact that they weren't there

Symapthy washed over the nation while fear left us there

In our minds we wondered how many lives were taken

We ran into the rooms of loved ones uncomfortable and shakin'

Crying only to think what if they weren't alive

Understanding the simple fact of kids in our lives

Women carrying innocence for 10 months at a time

Men doing their best to provide

But the fact of the matter is when people checked their rooms some beds were empty

When the lights went off and back on again they never breathed antoher breath

My heart goes out to all for the longing never goes away
