The Hill
Riots broke out in the town below
After the Savior left
Husbands fought and looted
Wives sat quietly and wept
Politicians soon sent out the army
To end the people’s plight
Murdering every person
Who tried to stand and fight
Those who haven’ haven’t died yet
Most surely will
As me and the boys sit and watch
From here up on the hill
While everybody's crying
We’re singing ‘round the fire
While everybody's dying
Our spirits’ growin’ higher
Nothing can touch us
Nothing at all
While we perched here laughing
As the world begins to fall
People run out in the streets
In an attempt to escape
But that would be pointless
Given this world’s current shape
This is happening everywhere
Societies are crashing and burning
Though the whole world has been turned upside down
The globe keeps spinning and turning
People’s minds are also changing
All have slowly begun to kill
As me and the boys sit and watch
From here up on the hill
While everybody's crying
We’re singing ‘round the fire
While everybody's dying
Our spirits’ growin’ higher
Nothing can touch us
Nothing at all
While we perched here laughing
As the world begins to fall
The city is in ruins now
Flames consume the Earth
While most are dying rapidly
Some are giving birth
Survival should be the only thing on people's minds
But still, I see lovers kiss
What tragedy it must be
To be born into a world such as this
The city is almost gone by now
But there is more yet still,
As me and the boys sit and watch
From here up on the hill
While everybody's crying
We’re singing ‘round the fire
While everybody's dying
Our spirits’ growin’ higher
Nothing can touch us
Nothing at all
While we perched here laughing
As the world begins to fall
