The High School Student

The world’s progression, scripted by bell,

Life decisions are forced to be made.

Indolence comes some, yet others excel.

A pit of indifference, a common place ones dwell;

Their interests elsewhere, their futures left to fade.

The world’s progression, scripted by bell.

Yet others choose to progress, to simply dispel,

All of the others who feel this progress goes undisplayed

Indolence consumes some, yet others excel

Those left to assume that the rest will be well.

Their future left to rubble, a present primed grenade.

The world’s progression, scripted by bell.

The others are left to conquer the world and raise hell;

From the world of current happiness, to the future success they trade.

Indolence consumes some, yet others excel.

Though some may disagree, success is found as well,

Yet most will realize too late that their fate has swayed.

The world’s progression, scripted by bell

Indolence consumes some, yet others excel.
