Hidden "Priority"

Mark 8:18 New English Translation (NET Bible)

18 Though you have eyes, don’t you see? And though you have ears, can’t you hear? Don’t you remember?

Hidden “priority”

Here I go without some coffee

No more worries about food

Yes, I need some restrictions

As this will be for my good

Let me be afraid of something

The flesh takes over and rules on

Makes uncertainty an idol

As my thoughts now carry on

It fills me with what’s called a substance

Tomorrow I have to do without

Psychological the mind starts running

Is that what life is all about?

Oh! How dumb one gets so quickly

Common sense seems to fade away

Instinct starts then to rule the sickly

To keep good reason firm at bay

Lessons learned not to understand

Until somewhere deep inside

The inner-man starts to overrule

To show how silly I am in my plight
