Hibernation

Jonah 1:6 New English Translation (NET Bible)

The ship’s captain approached him and said, “What are you doing asleep? Get up! Cry out to your god! Perhaps your god might take notice of us so that we might not die!” 7 The sailors said to one another,“ Come on, let’s cast lots to find out whose fault it is that this disaster has overtaken us.” So they cast lots, and Jonah was singled out.

Noah and I

He was the captain of the ship and I was not engaged

In just a plain sight at peace escaping responsibility

There was lots of turmoil as a storm was raging

While on the boat, I just slept shielding my futility

The captain worried quite a lot of the weight he had to carry

It wasn’t easy for the many sailors with a fearful disposition

After they threw the freight overboard and prayed to the ordinary

as in hopelessness, the folks searched for an idol’s intervention

I guess we’re all chosen for reasons regardless of nerve

I’m sure there was no throwing of lots to decide who would be there

To walk in obedience regardless of whom’s we are or serve

I was predestined and chosen for the Lord’s Glory here and everywhere
