The news emphasizes on the bad

It desensitizes us to think this is the only way to get attention

Do something bad and everyone will know your name

But all you will live with is shame

So why not try a different fate

And lead with love instead of hate

 

To the firefighters of the United States

Thank you for all you have done

All the lives you have saved

Your bravery is beyond what words can say

 

To the policemen, I back the blue

Keeping the streets safe a night

Everyday putting your life on the line

Thank you for your protection

 

To the people in the service

To the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coastguard, Marines and Reservist

Thank you for service for the freedoms of our country

And thank you for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice

 

To the teachers

Who’ve been blessed with patience of saints

Letting creative minds grow

And leading those to greatness

 

To the loving Mom’s and Dad’s

Who give life and support

And love and guidance

Until and child is an adult and even after that

 

To the ordinary person

Who influences a positive change

Who’s a good person

And shows compassion wherever they may be

 

These are heroes

These people get remembered

They leave a positive mark in the world

These are the people who are awesome
