Hero

Hero NOUN

heroes (plural noun)

1.a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities:

I am a hero with a ticket in my hand

Every time I look down at it

I can not help but to smile for a while

but

as my patience wears thin

I seek for inner strength within

my mentees

Far away from frenemies and victims of life

traveling brings about wonders and joys to heroes

That lead heroic lifestyles

sometimes even affairs

of the heart which causes turmoil to

broil

an seep within different parts of conflicted lifestyles

I packed my suitcase

sat on my bed

contemplated if traveling was some sort of sadistic

way to faint away all the pain and struggle I felt each day

Being a hero is hard work

Each day I paid a bill

With my 20 hours a week job

Each month I paid car insurance

with my 20 hours a week job

that graces me every 2 weeks

with 260

Barely enough for me to eat off

A hero favorite saying is

“If you do not work you do not eat”

it is taken from me

By the man

Entergy

Water

Cable

I work my life away

have no time to play

so that I can complete school work

each and everyday

A hero knows true balance

I'm blessed to say

I got a ticket in my hand

Every time I look down at it

I can not help but to smile for a while

but

Tommy could not travel

his mom is too sick

Off of abuse from his step father

who she did not bother to leave

so he is now a solemn place in the house to put her mind to ease

Heroes are wise when choosing to pick battles

Nia is homebound due to her controlling father

manipulating her in more than just the common way

Everyday she thinks to say

what he does

at night but his reign of terror keeps her in a dazed freight

Some Heroes can not fight gigantic monsters

Some imprints linger on the hero's soul and

The predator watches as it slumbers away in battle sick of

“Daddy coming into her room”

Jim found solace on the corner

everyone liked the powder

the money fast and easy

so he keeps his mom bills paid doing work that keeps him busy on the block

Selena did to but her body was the drug sold

unlike Jim who sold rocks

The sadder part is that he work for his pops

Selena has no one

left and abandoned with two baby sister

she deals with the pain by dealing her body away

to the man

to make rent, Energy, and water

Cable is not a luxury she can afford

I can't phantom what to do

The hood is stuck on me like Deja vu

Every corner I turn

I'm graced with beggars and fools

Used to be Heroes that got abused by the nativity the hood bring

So I grabbed my suitcase and picked it up

Reached the door to head out

I meant it this time

without a pout or a shadow of a doubt

Heroes must not let circumstance override a born ability to rise

I got this ticket in my hand

Destination is College

It doesn't say what city, state or zip

my future came in the mail

softly residing in a yellow envelope with a bow

I guess that saying

“my futures wrapped up in a bow”

does me some justice

if it was up to my knowledge

I'm glad to be in the dark

Apart from what my creator has endowed

In the hood you often lose sight of what is really good

My future is unforeseen

My destination is unclear

but not obscene

My path is focused

Because I know

I am a hero with a ticket in my hand

Overcoming life obstacles

That was not quite optical till I realized

That not only am I man

But a hero who will constantly win
