Here is the path, I know it well

Here's the path, I know it well

And a thousand steps or more may tell

From where I come, to where I go

Past the deep and driving snow--

Through the valleys green and wide

Over the sea's stormy grey tide

On cobbled road or old church stone

Whether with friends or all alone.

Here is the path, I know it well--

but still I travel on.
