Her Smile!

Fri, 11/28/2014 - 09:58 -- Leyoht

It’s a Saturday evening

And my blood turns to ice.

I can see her running

And she looks at me real nice.

I feel the urge

To brush my fingers through her hair.

I mustn’t purge.

I look her in the eye and say,

“Hey there!”

Her smile!

It turns my whole day upside-down.

It kills my once ever-present frown.

I look into her eyes.

She’s wearing no disguise.

She whinnies in response

To the feel of my hand.

I want to live in her land.

That is my only command.

So I see you stare straight into my eyes.

I forget all about my lies.

When I'm with you I forget all my trouble

In this land filled to the brim with rubble.

If only you were real;
I'd show you how I feel.
