Her Eyes...

Mon, 07/01/2019 - 13:57 -- A Finch

Her eyes were the color of the sky before rain…

A soft blurry hue, sometimes blue, others gray.

Two oceans frozen over by winter’s icy stain

Or eternal blue horizon, it is difficult to say,

Where heaven ends and the sea begins.

It seems this only do I know:

I drown within your eyes deep oceans

Sinking far below their billows

Yet I soar beyond the horizon in your eyes

into space unable to return. Left only the idea

That this beautiful girl was a goddess in disguise;

Her eyes so intense, she must have been Athena.
