Hello Sun

The sun rises, waking everything from their night's slumber.

The beautiful flowers open up and smile up at the sun, “Good Morning!” They seem to say with joy.

The birds soon start up their joyous chatter, greeting each other with their beautiful songs. They soar into the sky and wink at the sun as they pass by.

High up in the tree tops, chipmunks and squirrels wake up to the sun's beams shining in their little homes. They hurriedly scurry out of their little holes to greet the sunshine and heat.

A cool breeze passes through, keeping all the creatures cool and comfortable. A song accompanies the wind. It gives praise not just to the bright yellow sun who came out to warm the day, but also the Holy Son of God who came to save the day.

Shine Jesus, Shine!” It sings.

The sunlight hits my window.

I wake up and smile as I raise my window to better see the sun.

The song reaches my ears and fills my heart with warmth while the sun warms my face. “Hello sunshine!” I greet. I look at creation all around me.

I smile at the beautiful flowers, and laugh as the squirrel fights with the chipmunk over an acorn.

I raise my face back to the sun.

Thank you, God for this beautiful day. Thank you for the sun, and it's sunlight. Thank you for the beautiful flowers, and the squirrels, and the chipmunks, and the birds. Thank you, in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is also my Lord and my Savior.”

I close my eyes.

Amen.”
