Held Together by a Thread

I am exhausted

Life has taken my glass and drained me dry

Everything in me is dropping

My drive, my mind, myself

Somehow I wake up each morning

Forcing the seas to part

Allowing light to enter

But stopping it from reaching my heart

No one knows that I've died inside

My face being filled with life

The makeup and clothes help me

To paint a picture of lies

It feels like I'm running on autopilot

Moving without trying

The girl that you see

That makes you all laugh

Has already lost the fight

Everyday I force myself to rise

And slowly become another

My true shrivled self

Crawls up inside a meatsuit

The scared and tattered meatsuit

Held together by a thread

One more snip here and there

Then she'll truly be dead
