With A Heavy Heart

There once was a woman
full of life and love.
She still exists
somewhere high above.

During her trek
through life itself,
she fell ill;
for a cure, doctors did delve.

Unfortunately enough,
there is no cure,
so she passed
and despair we endure.

But before she drew her last breath,
an angel whispered
in her ear so soft,
"Take my hand
and together, we'll be off."

So she took the hand
and felt no sorrow.
She flew to a place
that always promises tomorrow.

As she weaved
through skies so clear,
she sent her love
to all she held so close and so dear.

Now that she's soaring
and wishes us well,
these three words:
"I am free!"
she will yell.
