Heavy

My heart feels heavy and
I can’t wait to go to sleep.

The unkept wires that run through my mind
Shed tears rather than light
And I can no longer feel the way I used to feel before.

I’m a mess,
I am well aware.
I’d rather count the stars than
Multiply the seconds I have left in my life
Because
I can find more life out there than
I can in here.

My heart feels heavy and
I’m waiting for his voice to guide me.
I’m a hopeless dreamer and
I can’t wait for him to take me.

The stars run endlessly
But I feel caged in.

My heart feels heavy.
I can’t wait to go to sleep.
