Heaven's Wings of Kindness

Tue, 11/22/2016 - 12:28 -- Sujukio

There once was a boy who wanted to fly.

He was an angel who fell from the sky.

Tumbling, tumbling, finding his feet,

He stood up, feeling the newfound heat.

His wings had lost feathers, matted and torn,

And his tiny, frail body was weathered and worn.

His little, blue eyes were waterfalls of tears.

His shaking hands searched for something dear.

"Oh dear, little angel! What is the matter?"

Asked a small stranger, her dress in a tatter.

The boy turned, tears down his red cheeks,

And said to the girl, "It's there that I seek."

"Where?" asked the girl with her eyes full of pity

For he was blind and not very witty.

He turned to the sky with a heart that did stir,

But it was his answer that did amaze her.

"The kingdom is bright and so full of cheer.

A place with no worries and anger disappears,

It is happy and hopeful, a place of gold.

This kingdom lives on with stories untold.

It's where I can see and smile and dance.

The King gives us all a second chance."

The girl watched in awe as his wings fluttered in truth,

And she took his hand as her wings grew, too.

The boy and the girl took to the sky,

And back up to heaven, the two did fly.

Be brave, little angel, and don't be afraid.

His kingdom is coming and you'll be okay.
