I sit at the edge of darkness
Looking out into the light
Longing to feel its warmth

The emptiness fills me
Freezing my heart and soul
Icy fingers steal my breath

Hope fades to despair

Always reaching for the dawn
Yet it remains beyond my grasp
What once offered blissful peace
Has now become my torment
I pray for death to come
I scream for release to find me
