Heartbeat(s)

Wed, 02/08/2017 - 05:33 -- Mjoie

It starts with a heartbeat.

Heartbeats that are inches or miles apart

Crescendo into a fraction of a moment-

The blink of four eyes:

All at once.

Any combination of a thousand expressions-

A laugh, a cringe, a lingering glance;

Once-solid colors grow in complexity.

The stars make their appearance

As the world disappears.

It starts with a heartbeat.

When two hearts meet that single,

Unison, note is added to the chorus.

Where the dynamic waves envelop it

Into a song that is somehow

(incomprehensibly perfect?)

Continuing on

Even after each heartbeat is

silenced.

Our world
