Heart in the Wall

My heart beats as I walk the streets.
I sense it yet do not feel it.
It steady pushes blood and energy inside my body, although I still feel dead walking the streets.
As I continue to walk my heart beat becomes more powerful.
I'm almost there.
All I can feel is my heart beating now.
Banging my chest as though to try and break free.
I finally arrive at my destination.
I finally see my heart stuck in the wall.
I try to pry it out hoping it won't fall.
I stand there with my heart exposed as it beats.
I finally feel the beat inside
I finally feel free
I am home.
