Heart Of The Machine

Today a maching broke

Now normally this isn't so unfixable

Had it been a slight shatter, a crack, or a chip

Then I'd glue it back together in hopes that it hadnt been severed too deeply this time

But today, it has malfunctioned manically, mechanically, and cant be fixed manually

I think it needs surgery

You see, this machine runs this whole factory

And without it, it will be forced to shut down

Some call it a radiator because of all the power-packed heat it sends off

But I call it a generator because of all the power it has over the workers that run this place

Either way...it's broken

And I'm gonna need more than just tools to fix it

I thought it was unbreakable

So I let everybody and his mama play with it

They turned all the random knobs they could find, payed no mind to the damage they were inflicting, insisting that they have complete control over the machine before leaving it behind

Broken, Damaged, and Useless

So accidentally, I found a repairman

Coincidentally, he had all the right tools at just the right price

He worked on it for months, weaving his way through the wiring, searching for the hard drive

At last, he found it

Victorious in his repairwork, he worked the machine overtime

I heard its cries and wails for help but

I was too preoccupied with the sight of that beautiful repairman and the things that he could do that I mistakingly forgot to come to its rescue

Don't let me lie to you, I knew that something was wrong

I was just too busy falling in love to practice being strong

So the machine was used and broken again

The repairman proved himself useless

And left

Left the machine

Left me

Left this factory rendered unliveable and unenterable forever

Now there's a tale that goes along with this empty shell of a machine that gets told around the factory

They say the factory was my body,

The machine was my heart

The workers were my brain cells,

And it was doomed from the start.
