This is a poem that I wrote for my grandmother when my uncle passed away...

I know that you are hurting now

And your pain runs very deep

But please take comfort in knowing that

He is just asleep

His eyes are closed, his mouth is shut

But your pain is very real

Please take comfort in knowing that

In time this pain will heal

I know it's hard to imagine that he's in a better place

I feel the sadness in your heart -- I see the hurt upon your face

Give your sorrows to the Lord -- place the sadness in his hand

I know you're full of questions and you need to understand

But know that God is an awesome God and he makes no mistakes

I know it's hard to see this now, your pain is very great

He will always be with you, for his memories you will keep

I'm so very sorry for your loss

But he is just asleep
