I used to be bound by the past

But when I was fourteen

At last

Finally there was a way out

Someone helped me

Happiness filled me

Inside and out

My church family really cared

I opened up and told them what was wrong

How these chains were wound tight around everything

Everything in my life,

Holding me back

Cutting deeply into me

Deep like a knife

And then finally I opened up to my family

Then I was saved

I heard a voice so sweet fall on my ear

Finally knowing I would never be alone

There's nothing really to fear

My heart slowly mended

The pain ended

When Jesus Christ

Came into my life
