Happy Thanksgiving
Profoundly in times of the distant past
Our forefathers began a glorious act
Of thanking God for all His caring deeds.
We carry on the torch. We plant the seeds
Of gratitude in our hearts. Plants burgeon
And we reap ripe fruits of satisfaction.
Our Granaries are full. We thank Thee Lord.
Our Silos overflow. We thank Thee Lord
For the rains, for the sun and for the wind
We had and for the yields that brimmed our land.
Our songs of praise soar in Thy mighty name
O'er the red and white flag that boosts our fame.
Our tables are decked with pumpkins and corn.
Thanksgiving Dinner’s made for everyone.
With staple* and spicy pie** we shall dine
And grandly end the day with our red wine.
We’ll keep thanking you through every good deed
Thus be blessing to nations far and wide.
* Roast Turkey/ Roast Ham, gravy, and Cranberry Sauce
** Canadian pumpkin pie made spicier on the Thanksgiving
