A Hammer In My Hand

                                                     A Hammer In My Hand

He came into this word with a mission that few would understand

Born mysteriously as a baby and he would grow up to become a controversial man

But he was born in disgrace and they would talk about his mother

They said that Joseph was not his dad that she had been with another

So how could he be the savor that so many had been waiting for

Who could take away pain and sorrow and a suffering heart he could make soar

Doing things that no other man had done performing miracles throughout the land

Speaking word to so many and for so many they would be hard for them to understand

He would tell them to love one another at times you would have to turn the other cheek

He said it’s a self-sacrificing journey if eternal life was the goal that you was trying to reach

He would feed a multitude and blind eyes he would open for them to see

Telling them if they would follow him that he could set them eternally free

He would make the lame to walk and the mute would begin to talk

And all that mankind was searching for in him it could be sought

So why did so many hate him and plot to take his life

Why would his words cause so much hatred animosity and strife

So that one day they would take him and rip holes in his skin

None not knowing he was God’s sheep being sacrificed for the world sin’s

Even I just did not know and I could not understand who could kill such a man

So I wondered as I turned and walked away with the hammer that was in my hand
