The Greatest Actress

I am the greatest actress

I sit at my desk

I am a face of happiness

When inside I am crying

I am the greatest actress

I am a normal teenager

Yet, I'm thirty five

Torn in many directions

I am the greatest actress

I sit amongst friends

I am smiling, laughing

Inside, I am desperate, dying

I am the greatest actress

I am a shepherd to my flock

I lead them to the banks

Yet I'm the newborn lamb, all alone

I am the greatest actress

I swim in the stream

I'm a small fish in the sea

Everyone is coming for me

I am the greatest actress

I am happy alone

In a corner, I'm at home

Yet, here in the crowd I remain

I am the greatest actress

In my class I sit pretending

That I don't know the work

So I won't be asked for help

I am the greatest actress

I sit alone to write

Of joy and happiness I sing

Yet, I am thrown away, an old toy

I am the greatest actress

I am here, with everyone

Alone and lost in the depths of the dark

Yet, I am telling them differently

For I am the greatest actress
