Gravity and Hearts

My heart

Couldn’t help itself

When I first met you.

It craved you

The same way lungs crave oxygen.

Every beat of my heart,

Aching for you.

Calling out

To see if you would answer.

I remember the first time I touched you.

From then on

My hands only wanted to feel your

Soft

Warm

Skin beneath them.

There were times

In the beginning

When I feared falling for you too quickly.

I would try my best

To slow myself down.

But

Gravity and hearts

Don’t listen to requests.

Thank God.

They want what they want.

Following the laws of the Universe

Like

Every action has a reaction

And

A force in motion stays in motion.

And

I desperately love you.
