Sitting in the corner of your dark room
Listening as the world goes by
See you in a shell of your former self
Hurts me to the point of tears

Sleep now
Try to find some peace
Fighting for strength
What little you have left

You seem to be off in dreamland, smiling
To me it's a nightmare
The family is here smiling with you
Trying to hide the pain inside

Days tick by
The light in your eyes so hard to find
I fear I am too close
To a last goodbye

Before that time comes
There are things I need to say
I hope you can hear me
I can only pray

You already know I love you so much
I hope it shows
Thank you for everything you have taught me
I have learned so much

I hope I am growing
From your little boy
To the man you have always
Wanted me to be

This is so hard to see
In this fog I am in
But it's all because
Of what you mean to me

I hope you know
This can bring us both peace
No matter where you are
You will never be far

You are the center peace of my heart
