A Grand Canyon Dream

Mountains and canyons beyond what eyes can see

The clay earth beneath is subliminally icy

Misty air follows me along the path

I savor its taste as it swirls in wrath

Little beams of light spread from the flamboyant flowers

They reach out to me and I stand fixed for hours

I hear the rapid river that explores the land

It looks to seep into whatever it can

I  smell Ponderosa Pine infused with vanilla

A scent that could call for a good night’s pillow

It makes me want to stay a little while more

Oh how I adore this world around me
