When people and life give you grief
there is some advice you always receive:
“Take it with a grain of salt,” they say.
It’s such a cliché.
And what they don’t tell you
is that the salt is rubbed in your wounds.
But don’t worry, I have good news, too.
With a little bit of water, the salt is dissolved.
And for the time being, no more pain is involved.
Sometimes that water can come from tears,
but sometimes a long shower or bath can wash away your fears.
The rain helps me. And the sound of fountains and rivers.
So, don't let that advice give you a shiver.
Take life with a grain of salt,
and give your soul a reviving jolt.
