Goodnight, Not Goodbye

It’s not goodbye, that’s what I believe
Things have a way of coming back after they leave

Time passes and we move on
But the memory of what happened lives long after it seems gone

The only moment when it’s time to dismiss
Is when the feelings become too hard to reminisce

Despite the countless times when people part
They always come back and touch each other’s hearts

People do meet again
And will see each other beyond the end

When the day comes to a close
The night unveils moments to compose

The next time when people greet
Is after they say goodnight dear it’s been a treat

So goodnight all I will see you soon
Goodbye is too harsh a word for the brief time we return after the fall of the moon
