Goodbye

It's not to say that it isn't truly there,
Actually crumbling around my feet.
Secure I don't stay as opens a tear,
Nothing beneath to feel the braking beat.

I hold my breath; the safety is long gone,
No comfort anywhere for my weak heart.
Broken it seems as I see I'm a pawn,
No longer wanting, caring for a part.

It just seems natural to turn quite cold,
A small shield to protect my heavy soul.
Away it pushes as the ice chills, bold,
Leaving me alone and reaching my goal.

It can't be that things will be as before;
I'm gone with the wind and staying no more.
