Gold

How long can I wear this beautiful gold,

It fills me like refreshing spring water,

Before my life is on permanent hold,

People tell me that I have grown very old,

Like my daughter I never saw my father,

How long can I wear this beautiful gold,

It just makes me look so outstandingly bold,

Materials girls trying to holler,

Before my life is on permanent hold,

The inside of my soul is very cold,

Because they see this gold chain on my collar,

How long can I wear this beautiful gold,

This cruel country makes me want to fold,

Never fall slave to the almighty dollar,

Before my life is on permanent hold,

By my tongue the life I lived shall be told,

The human race I no longer bother,

How long can I wear this beautiful gold,

Before my life is on permanent hold.
