Glass Castle

Thu, 01/18/2018 - 12:50 -- Kate.T

I went back to the place that you left me

In the ruinous city

On the wrong side of town

I probably should not have come back, but I did anyways

Maybe to remind myself of what happened

What made me change

I was broken when you met me

Well, no not broken, just a little lost

A little torn up

A little heartbroken

And you trapped that lost soul in a cage

As if being lost wasn't enough

As if I

With words like glass shards

Needed to taste your too sweet chocolate kisses

And feel your burning hands

To love myself

I don't

Ansd never will need someone to complete myself

You gave more flame to a wildfire

When all I needed was water
