The girl looking back at me

Looking in the mirror, I see this girl staring back at me

Who is she?

Me?

No it can't be.

She struts with confidence how can this be.

Certianly she's not me.

Oh but it is

Take a look

Same nose, same eyes, same crooked grin.

How did I get here.

How did I become this confident creature.

Oh how cheesy this is but it was my mom who caused this change.

The year was hard

The money was tight

The income was short

Yet we fought through these times together

Through the hardships that faced us this year, I grew

I became the person I wanted to be

I became one hell of a confident crooked grinned person because I had to be

No time for allowing the world to crush you

Strength is needed in hardships

So for those hardships like set backs at work, debt, and just life I want to say thank you

I wouldn't be the confident person staring back at me if it weren't for them.
