Girl on the Dance Floor

Could I have dreamed a more perfect bliss

A more awesome exchange a more breathtaking kiss

When I took you by the hand you were not of that theme

Of this sweetest love of my teenage dream

But if a melody by Chopin could ever be

As sweet as the smile I now see

A heavenly tune with a divine grace

It would compare not to the beauty I see in your face

Perhaps it was your eyes so bright with cheer

Or in the story you told of what brought you here

Or the spoonful of magic that set you free

How you neglected other men to dance with me

Whatever the case I kissed you goodnight

The moments we live for when we say good-bye to fright

And dance hip hop and reggae and Irish jig

No letting go of the wonder or forgetting what we did

Memories of Atlanta in Dublin and this

Reminisces in verse too beautiful to miss

Only write in words my affection then dream of the day

We meet again on the dance floor and dance the night away
