Girl at the Airport

Location

Would she be surprised to know I still remember

That I thought of her this past September

That few are revered with thoughts so kind

And not a moment we shared has escaped my mind

She flew into my life from a faraway beach

I ascended to her from a cold retreat

Confused as I was when I saw her face

For the view of the heavens it did replace

The swaying that invaded the ice cold air

Her warm eyes relieved ending despair

While my eyes steady my heart turbulence found

Smiles flirting and soaring above this fitting ground

The voices of planes were not so loud

Her heavenly sounds drowned out the crowd

Connecting flights is where we started

And our love would continue til we departed

Remember the takeoff of each kiss

With no concern for the flights we’d miss

The destination we recall only the joy it brings

So could our journey be recollect despite this thing

Never have I known a beauty more rare

Only once have I been loved by one so fair

I wish what we had to never be forgotten

Let these lines live on when our bodies are rotten
