Giants in Peril
These giants stand out on the great African Plains
But too often their motionless bodies lie on the ground surrounded by stains
Not taken for food they rot in the dust
Only struck down for the use of their tusk
These giants stand out on the great African Plains
But they rapidly disappear causing many suffering and pains
Why are their tusks in demand so far away
That locals would risk their extinction today

But without drastic change, the mighty elephant will see no gains
Friends of the beast come from far off lands
Bringing resources to extend helping hands

But the specie has suffered so much strains
Governments pass laws to end the slaughter
