Georgie

Georgie sits by the gate looking all around.

He knows it's getting late and she's no where to be found.

The cars keep driving by, but noone seems to care.

He begins to wonder why she would want to leave him there.

The man always hit him and told him he was no good,

But she was always caring and saved him if she could.

He starts to wonder if he really had done somthing wrong.

He didn't mean to sniff or play or run around too long.

He hears a car pull into the drive and jumps up on the gate,

And he sees her coming toward him carrying a crate.

She tells him "It's okay." and puts him inside the cage.

The man runs out and screams at her in a fit of rage.

She tells the man that he can no longer hurt her friend,

And Georgie cannot wait for his new life to begin.

She drives away with Georgie leaving the man all alone.

She pets his head and tells him "We're finally going home."
