Gaps = Guilty and Poignant Spaces

Sun, 09/15/2013 - 20:32 -- iamjude

Do I run to be closer to you?

Or do I run to widen the gap?

We've never been the same

You and I

It's getting more difficult

To lie

You're walking away,

But you're not leaving me behind

I used to feel guilty about the gap,

But who's to say to STAY is right?

Maybe leaving is the key

Key to the door

We've been too scared to open

Show me the way,

But don't hold my hand

Let me go once the light shines through

Thank you for being here

Today, yesterday, and the day before that

Harsh winters and humid summers

I don't need you anymore

I can please myself

By my side, you should no longer be

Thank you

For now

You should no longer be,

But a memory
