Friendship Starts With Kindness

The day they broke my crayons

It was a day of frowns

As if it was planned

Four little hands

Of two different shades

Came to my aid

The day I broke my arm

It was a day of harm

Help from the same four hands

Allowed me to withstand

All that pain

Friends we shall remain

The night he broke my heart

It was a day of falling apart

When all I did was cry

Those four hands held me tight

I began to feel better

And soon nothing else mattered

The day I had to go away

It was a day of grey

We couldn’t stand to be apart

For all of us it was a fresh start

But their years of kindness

Will always bring me brightness
