Friend or Food

Fri, 11/16/2018 - 23:01 -- egab01

Cheeseburger, steak, Chicken wings

The words that make mouths water

That make us run to the fridge

But what is inside that food?

The souls of the helpless animals

Their cries for help

drowned out by deafening machines

Abused from birth to death

Some only seeing darkness

Others beaten; slaughtered alive

Our dogs and cats are animals

So what are cows and chicken?

They feel pain and show love

They see and hear things

So why do we treat them like food?

Before I go to order that #7

I think to myself, they are animals too

My country
