Fresh Air

Wed, 03/30/2016 - 22:57 -- Dseabro

Often, we think about needing air to breathe

But, we do not think about the quality of that air

We could live on stale air

Air like weeks old bread

Air that fills the body yet neglects the soul

So, while we could live with any air we do not

For, it is not just our bodies we feed

We need fresh air to rejuvenate us

To cleanse our bodies of the old

To surround us in its breeze

However, we take it for granted

Therefore, we when it is gone we'll be surprised

We will fill as dull as the reused air we breathe

There will be no happiness in our souls

There will only be a sense of loss

Still, because fresh air thrills us we fill ourselves with it

Otherwise, we might lose the feeling anyway

I wouldn't want to lose that feeling

Fresh air is as vital as it is ignored

Fresh air may be all I need
