Freefall

I remember it so clearly, even though it was a dream.

The air felt still and was a bitter cold.

The ground was a deep dark grey tone, stretching as if there was no end.

The sky overhead was pitch black, not a single star could be seen.

I felt so alone, engulfed in a fog that surrounded me.

Blurring my vision, as I strain to see what is in front of me.

That's when I see him.

Dressed in a grey hoodie, simple jeans, slightly long dark hair.

The fog made it impossible to make out details of his face.

Yet he felt familiar.

His lips are moving, but I all can hear is silence.

I cannot even hear myself breathe or hear my heart punded.

But I can feel it.

He reaches forward, towards me despite the ten feet between us.

I start to reach out to him.

Then the ground disappears, and I fall.

I plummet towards a void, seeing he is falling too.

Then..... I woke up.
