The freaks rise

Its been said
the craziest things happen
when the sun shuts his eyes,
when the moon lifts her head
is when the freaks rise

the jade carpets rolls on the feild of hard concrete
where lifeless feet bear no wittness to the humbling skyscrapers
that almost hit satalites,

the stars wink back at those caught staring
the trees stretch their ancient roots, and stiff backs
the water slides happily down jaded rocks
that have their backs turned
for they no longer trust the world is a beautiful place

but every once in a while, show their faces, to check if that has changed

the sun does get jealous
so he hides behind his sister to see the stories
he tells her before she rests her head
sometimes he wonders
what its like
too see the world
of when he freaks rise
