Fourth of July

A flicker of light that soon fades away

Shining in the night sky so beautiful

It glimmers into a phase

A light that moves fast and slow

Then abruptly explodes

Like a chandelier or a present in the sky

It shows itself while people exclaim “oh, my”

This excitement occurs only once a year

Showing images in the sky

 Quickly but so clear

are these lights just glimmers in the sky?

Or a true story trying to tell us the why

A story with a beginning and an ending

It climbs to the hearts of families bringing them together

They stay in awe, lying down, side by side

Saying happy birthday America

Happy Fourth of July
